Tiger baby (Final Post)

Bloggers, Some of you may know that I have been looking for a kitten to adopt for a very long time. Well I finally found the perfect kitty. She has been on 2 great adventures and is growing up fast.

I have searched and searched and finally got an email from a lady in Massachusetts.  I was so fed up with looking that I decided I would drive the 3 hours to Mass to pick out a kitten. On a sunday morning my friend and I woke up early and drove down to Mass and got to play with the kittens for a little bit.

I chose between these two Maine Coon kitties above. I ended up choosing the one on the right because she had shorter hair  and coller designs on her body. The day I got her she turned 6 weeks old. So because we had to drive 3 hours back with this tiny kitty, we went to the closest pet store to get her supplies. I bought her a litter box, food dishes, Purina kitten chow, toys, and a cute pink collar. I also had to get her kitty formula because she was still so small.

I slowly introduce the kitty to my bunny. The bunny gets a little annoyed with the kitty but the kitty loves her so much. She sleeps on top of the bunnies cage and watches her all day. Every time I let the bunny out with the kitty she just jumps on top of her and bites her ears. As seen in the video I took below.

I will definitely say the 6 hour drive to Mass was worth getting this little kitty. I still haven't given her a set name even though I have gone through 3 different names. I just call her kitty because Im waiting for something great she does to chose her name. She is only 9 weeks old and already has grown so much. I wish I could keep her a mini tiger forever.

Sup Dude

Hey everyone! This blog is to inform you about Sup standup paddler magazine. I chose this magazine because I know a little bit about stand up paddle. I have friends that live in California who are sponsored for it. It caught my eye on the rack because of the beautiful background. A sunset sky always catches my eye.

They always have someone in the water at some beautiful place on the cover to capture peoples attention. In this magazine we learn about people experiences with stand up paddling and why they love the sport. I also talks about the different sponsors and who they support.

from google
When looking through this magazine your limbic brain is very in tune. A lot of the pages are full pictures of the water you cant help but to look at.  Your Neocortex is also used when reading the words on the cover. They always give a few big ideas that are in the magazine.

The magazine shows different types of boards and compares them. It also gives examples of different ways to stand up paddle wether its tucking in a wave or going down the rapids. This magazine has a lot of advertisements but they mostly have to do with stand up paddling.
I was reminded of the technological shift of the Magazine because they have an online component. You do not have to even be a subscriber to look at it. You can read the latest stand up news or  watch videos. The website is helpful with keeping up with the latest photos. It also advertises for other companies right on the home page.  Another interesting thing about their online website is the calendar page. It gives you the latest news and sometimes the upcoming events if there are any.

I have not read all of the stories in this magazine but they are all very interesting.  If I was into stand up paddling I would definitely subscribe to this magazine. The colors and beautiful pictures are very captivating.

SPring Break (media meditation4)

Hello Bloggers, This past week has been Champlain's spring break. For some reason this year I decided not to do anything and stay here in Burlington. That was not the right choice because only a few others stayed back. Also, we had a snow storm one day and my car was blocked in for a few days and I couldn't leave my apartment.

up to my belly button
Saturday the 5th was an interesting day. I woke up to find a band playing right outside my front door on church st. celebrating Mardi Gras. It was very loud and started early but Magic Hat was the sponsor so it was good. I was surprised to see how many people were around even though the weather was a little bit wet. Ben and Jerry's was giving out free ice cream and there was the Queen and King competition.

this guy almost won King
The parade followed a little later down on Main st. People crowded around waiting in the rain for the parade to begin. Lots of candy and beads were thrown out. The kids behind me were going crazy jumping on us to get all the beads. And these were college students. There were a lot of interesting floats and a lot of music. It was very festive. The Alice in wonderland floats was my favorite, it was nicely decorated. The parade was an hour long and my knees got a    little soar and i got a little wet but It was fun to see.

The rest of spring break has been nothing but relaxing. It has been warming up but rainy so I've been spending most of my time in-doors cleaning and watching movies. I have been ordering a lot of Netflix to watch. I recently watch the movie Up In the Air. I've also watched a lot of One Tree Hill and The O.C. because they are always on when I turn the tv on.

I'ts a bummer school has to start back up again because I am so used to not doing any work. Hopefully all your spring breaks were just as relaxing and productive. Maybe next year I will make the right decision to actually do something during spring break.

Ice Tower? (media meditation3)

This weekend I traveled to Bethel, Maine to visit a friend. We spent the long weekend relaxing in the sauna and having a Glee marathon. I happen to notice that the ice tower(shown below) Bethel was trying to make failed. The bar it was on cracked right in half.

M. Dirk MacKnight

-What if the tower had fallen why on e of the ice climbers were on it?

-and why would anyone want to stand outside in the freezing cold in the middle of the night to make the ice tower?

We spent a lot of time at the Bethel Inn, relaxing in the sauna and lifting in the gym. You should all visit Bethel for a weekend of skiing and relaxation at the Bethel Inn.

One other thing I did this weekend was watch a lot of movies. I went to see Just Go With It in theaters again and thought it was even funnier the second time. My friend and I also sat in front of the fire watching the first season of Glee the whole night. Media is a huge part of my life and id like to keep it that way.

No Strings Attached (media meditation2)

Youtube

This past weekend I went to see the movie No strings Attached from the video trailer above. Of course I thought it was great because Ashton Kutcher is such a great actor. To my surprise, at the end of the movie some girls said it was the worst corny movie they have seen. I thought they were very wrong. it was definitely a chick flick but it was funny and very entertaining. If you like Ashton Kutcher or a chick flick go see this movie.

What a good looking man

Who Am I? (media meditation1)

Hello everyone,

My name is Alli Flynn and I am from Chicago,IL. During this break I had many encounters with the media. I got an iPad for Christmas, watched movies and played around on the Internet.
Google

I like that we can get basically any type of information we need. We don't even have to be at a computer to find the info,we could be sitting on a train using our cell phone or IPad. I do not like that technology takes away from actually having to physically see someone to communicate. Professionally I have no idea what I want to do.
