Sup Dude

Hey everyone! This blog is to inform you about Sup standup paddler magazine. I chose this magazine because I know a little bit about stand up paddle. I have friends that live in California who are sponsored for it. It caught my eye on the rack because of the beautiful background. A sunset sky always catches my eye.

They always have someone in the water at some beautiful place on the cover to capture peoples attention. In this magazine we learn about people experiences with stand up paddling and why they love the sport. I also talks about the different sponsors and who they support.

When looking through this magazine your limbic brain is very in tune. A lot of the pages are full pictures of the water you cant help but to look at.  Your Neocortex is also used when reading the words on the cover. They always give a few big ideas that are in the magazine.

The magazine shows different types of boards and compares them. It also gives examples of different ways to stand up paddle wether its tucking in a wave or going down the rapids. This magazine has a lot of advertisements but they mostly have to do with stand up paddling.
I was reminded of the technological shift of the Magazine because they have an online component. You do not have to even be a subscriber to look at it. You can read the latest stand up news or  watch videos. The website is helpful with keeping up with the latest photos. It also advertises for other companies right on the home page.  Another interesting thing about their online website is the calendar page. It gives you the latest news and sometimes the upcoming events if there are any.

I have not read all of the stories in this magazine but they are all very interesting.  If I was into stand up paddling I would definitely subscribe to this magazine. The colors and beautiful pictures are very captivating.

SPring Break (media meditation4)

Hello Bloggers, This past week has been Champlain's spring break. For some reason this year I decided not to do anything and stay here in Burlington. That was not the right choice because only a few others stayed back. Also, we had a snow storm one day and my car was blocked in for a few days and I couldn't leave my apartment.

up to my belly button
Saturday the 5th was an interesting day. I woke up to find a band playing right outside my front door on church st. celebrating Mardi Gras. It was very loud and started early but Magic Hat was the sponsor so it was good. I was surprised to see how many people were around even though the weather was a little bit wet. Ben and Jerry's was giving out free ice cream and there was the Queen and King competition.

this guy almost won King
The parade followed a little later down on Main st. People crowded around waiting in the rain for the parade to begin. Lots of candy and beads were thrown out. The kids behind me were going crazy jumping on us to get all the beads. And these were college students. There were a lot of interesting floats and a lot of music. It was very festive. The Alice in wonderland floats was my favorite, it was nicely decorated. The parade was an hour long and my knees got a    little soar and i got a little wet but It was fun to see.

The rest of spring break has been nothing but relaxing. It has been warming up but rainy so I've been spending most of my time in-doors cleaning and watching movies. I have been ordering a lot of Netflix to watch. I recently watch the movie Up In the Air. I've also watched a lot of One Tree Hill and The O.C. because they are always on when I turn the tv on.

I'ts a bummer school has to start back up again because I am so used to not doing any work. Hopefully all your spring breaks were just as relaxing and productive. Maybe next year I will make the right decision to actually do something during spring break.
